Anteatr.com features content produced by Undergraduates in the Arts 50-60-70 course series in Digital Arts at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, UC Irvine. The Minor in Digital Arts is open to undergraduate students from all areas of UC Irvine who want to acquire a working knowledge of how digital media content is conceived, constructed and performed.
In the studio, students receive hands-on experience with current software tools, creating their own new media art projects and learning fundamental techniques for video, audio and web design. Students are provided a variety of opportunities to explore personally meaningful creative process while developing a deeper appreciation of new media aesthetics, concepts and design principles.
Coursework considers relationships between a wide range of new media art practices, touching on areas such as social networking, digital music, video/audio broadcasting and narrowcasting, and more. The program investigates critical issues related to emerging technologies and the arts, and surveys recent works by leading new media artists.
